Cafec ABACA filter papers are made from ABACA (Manila hemp) and wood pulp. Known for good air and liquid permeability, toughness and elasticity, which is what keeps a brew drawing down evenly.
Cafec use a two-side crepe finish on the paper to promote smooth water flow and reduce the risk of the bed clogging. These suit the Cafec 3-5 Cup Trapezoid Dripper and work with other trapezoid or flat bottom drippers including the Kalita 102/103, Clever Dripper, Bee House, Bonavita and Moccamaster.
Why ABACA: ABACA fibres are around four times stronger than regular wood pulp fibres at half the thickness. The fibres are extracted from the leaf stems of a banana tree species, so the tree itself stays intact. No bleach, glues or chemicals are used in the paper.
