No subscription. One bag, one payment, nothing recurring.
Description +

One bag of our espresso blend, no subscription attached. Medium roast, full body, low acidity, and it works across espresso machines, stovetops and plungers. Same coffee, same independent Adelaide roasters and same roasted to order freshness as the subscription. You just pay once and that is the end of it.

Good fit if you want to taste what we actually send before setting anything up, or you only buy coffee when you have run out. Maybe not if you drink it every day, since remembering to reorder is the part most people get wrong.

Dawn Patrol Coffee Roasters

McLaren Vale, South Australia

This fortnight it's Dawn Patrol Coffee, started by Dom Ossa and Nick Suggitt in a shed in Kangarilla in 2014 and now roasting out of an old tractor shed on Main Rd, McLaren Vale. Four coffees land this release: the all-African Cheetah blend, two Colombian single origins split across espresso and filter, and a Mexican mountain water decaf.

Tasting notes Sweet citrus, red fruits, caramel, watermelon, peach, butterscotch

The facts

What you're actually getting

Roaster
Rotates every fortnight. A different independent Adelaide roaster each release.
Roast date
Roasted to order. Shipped 1 to 3 days after roasting, and most arrive within 7 days of the roast date.
Roast level
Medium roast. Balanced and full-bodied, and it works across every brewing method.
Origins
From all over the world. Coffee is seasonal, so the origins shift through the year as different growing regions come into harvest. You might get an Ethiopian one fortnight and a Colombian or Guatemalan the next.
Delivery
Free across Australia. Orders placed by Sunday midnight ship Thursday or Friday.
Flavour
Expect a cup with real depth. We lean toward roasters who pull big, satisfying flavour out of their beans, so it never tastes flat or watery. Full notes come with every bag.
Questions

Espresso Blend Coffee, No Subscription FAQs

Will it actually be fresh? +
Yes. Roasted to order and shipped direct, not warehoused.
Roasted by the featured Adelaide roaster and sent while fresh. Most customers get it within a few days of the roast date.
Can I choose the roaster? +
No, and that's deliberate.
We rotate through all 15 independent Adelaide roasters so you keep discovering ones you'd never have picked yourself. That's the whole point.
Which grind should I pick? +
Match it to how you brew, or go whole bean.
Espresso for machines, stovetop for moka pots, French press for plungers. Not sure? Leave a note and we'll sort it.
Where do you deliver and how long does it take? +
Anywhere in Australia.
Orders placed by Sunday midnight ship Thursday or Friday that week. Most people get it within a few days of it being roasted. Adelaide and the bigger cities are quick, regional spots take a little longer.
Is this a subscription? +
No. One bag, one payment, that's it.
Nothing recurring, no account to manage, no cancelling later. Order it when you want it.
What's the difference from the subscription? +
The coffee is the same. The commitment isn't.
Same rotating Adelaide roasters, same roasted-to-order freshness. The subscription just turns up on its own and you don't have to remember to reorder.
Can I switch to a subscription later? +
Any time, and plenty of people do exactly that.
Try a bag first, and if you like where this is going, start a subscription and pick your schedule. Nothing carries over, you just start one.

Hey — quick question to start. How do you make coffee at home? Espresso machine, AeroPress, pour over, plunger, pod machine... whatever it is. And if you know what you're after (milk coffees, black filter, decaf, still figuring it out), throw that in too.
