Do I still need a separate tamper?
No. The flat face on the base handles the tamp, so this replaces both a WDT tool and a basic tamper.
Will it fit my machine?
It suits any standard 58mm portafilter. Most prosumer espresso machines use 58mm. If yours is a smaller size (53mm, 54mm), it won't fit.
Is it worth it if I already tamp fine?
The needle distribution step is the part most home setups skip, and it's usually where uneven extraction comes from. Even a tidy tamp can't fix grounds that are clumped underneath.
