Description

Rhino 2-in-1 WDT Distribution Tool & Tamper 58mm – Black

Two jobs, one tool. The needle end breaks up clumps and spreads your grounds evenly across the basket (the WDT step), and the flat face on the same base tamps it down. Sort out channelling and get a level, even puck without juggling two separate bits of kit on the bench.

What it does

  • Needle end de-clumps and distributes grounds evenly before tamping
  • Flat tamping face built into the same base, so distribute then tamp with one tool
  • Fits any standard 58mm portafilter basket
  • Fewer channels, more even extraction, a more consistent shot

Who it's for

  • Home baristas who want to fix uneven extraction without buying a separate WDT tool and tamper
  • Anyone chasing more consistency shot to shot
  • Small setups where bench space is tight

FAQs

Do I still need a separate tamper?
No. The flat face on the base handles the tamp, so this replaces both a WDT tool and a basic tamper.

Will it fit my machine?
It suits any standard 58mm portafilter. Most prosumer espresso machines use 58mm. If yours is a smaller size (53mm, 54mm), it won't fit.

Is it worth it if I already tamp fine?
The needle distribution step is the part most home setups skip, and it's usually where uneven extraction comes from. Even a tidy tamp can't fix grounds that are clumped underneath.

The rundown

What it is, and why it's here

Grounds come out of the grinder clumped. Tamping on top of that just compresses the clumps, and water finds a shortcut through the gaps. That is channelling, and it is why one side of the shot runs fast while the other stalls.

The needle end breaks the clumps up and spreads the bed evenly, then the flat face on the same base tamps it down. Fits any standard 58mm basket, and it replaces both a WDT tool and a basic tamper.

Why this one

Features that actually matter

01

Two jobs, one tool

Needles break up clumps and spread the grounds evenly, then the flat face on the same base tamps it down. No juggling two bits of kit on a bench that is already full.

02

Fixes the channelling you cannot see

Clumped grounds let water carve a shortcut through the puck. Distributing first is the cheapest fix for a shot that runs fast on one side and stalls on the other.
